In early 2017, my second daughter, Lacie, was dying to learn to twirl. I could have just taught her by herself, but being part of a team really is half the fun. We are a homeschool family and I wanted to find something outside of home for her to be a part of. I started researching Christian-based dance studios in our area, and while they looked truly wonderful, they just didn't have the affordability that our big family needed.

So Heartwork was born!

Our church was blessed to have skilled dancers with a willingness to volunteer countless hours of time to help get it going. We started out with only a handful of students meeting once a week for twirl and ballet. Originally we did short seasons in the summer. Our recitals were small, but the girls were so proud to show off their hard work, and we were equally proud of them!  After a year or two, we switched to fall seasons leading up to a Christmas recital, and later added our Summer Camp.

It truly is mind-boggling to me what that tiny idea has become! The Lord has blessed Heartwork in so many ways, and I just can't wait to see what He does with it as we head into our 7th year!
